Heather is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a specialization in Medical Family Therapy. She believes that our lives are a series of “stories” woven together to create our beliefs about who we are. Some of these stories are helpful in our life and relationships, and others can be hurtful and discouraging. We have authored some of our stories, and many have been told to us by others. Heather works together with you to identify how you would like to re-tell YOUR stories to create a future that fits your desired vision for your life.
Heather works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults. Heather’s approach utilizes a strength based systemic approach including narrative therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), play therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Heather’s experience includes a background working with children and families in childcare and parent educator settings, as well as teaching positive discipline courses. One of her specialties is working with families and individuals experiencing chronic illness and pain, cancer, and other medical issues.
Heather’s primary areas of focus have been:
Grief and loss
